You must complete two e-Learning study modules on our website, then attend a single 3-hour practical session in the Melbourne CBD.

22300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis 

  • This course is an approved anaphylaxis management qualification by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority.
  • This course includes information about allergies, anaphylaxis, recognising signs and symptoms, managing and treating an allergic reaction (including administration of an auto-injector i.e. EpiPen) and minimising the risk of exposure to allergens in children’s services.

About the first aid and anaphylaxis training delivery

Online Theory Component
Theory must be completed at least 24hrs prior to attending your scheduled class. Failure to complete theory prior to attending the class will result in your booking being cancelled and all monies forfeited.  Trainers will be provided with the class list detailing theory completion results the day prior to the class.

Learners will gain immediate access to the theory portal upon completion of their booking and payment.
Practical Assessment Component
  • In your practical component you will need to complete 1 theory test (all multiple choice questions) and practical exercises, you will be assessed by your trainer and have to be marked as competent to pass for your qualification.
  • Practical exercises are usually done in groups or pairs and may involve practicing the use of auto injector devices.

Participants assessed as being competent in all assessments will receive

  • A Statement of Attainment in 22300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis.

22282VIC Course in the management of asthma risks and emergencies in the workplace

  • This course is an approved asthma management qualification by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority.
  • This course is designed to train participants to deal with asthma attacks in a range of situations including childcare centres, schools, public places, workplaces and sporting events.

Course in Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) is no longer an accredited cause and was retired at the end of 2015.

AED training is now included in the HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course.  Please select this course if you require training using an AED device.

This course is ideal for workplaces or managers of public places that have an AED on-site, and require staff to know how to use an AED in an emergency situation.

  • Afternoon - 12pm-4.45pm
  • Evening - 5pm-11pm

  • If you require a general first aid qualification, we recommend the HLTAID003 Provide first aid. This is the course completed by anyone requiring a first aid qualification in the workplace.
  • If you are just looking to update your CPR qualification we recommend HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.  The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends that this qualification is updated every year.
  • If you work in the child care industry and are looking for a first aid qualification, and also require anaphylaxis and asthma training, you should consider HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.
  • Those working with children may also be required to obtain first aid training qualifications in Combined Asthma and Anaphylaxis.  Just check with your employer before you make an enrolment, so that you get the correct training for your circumstance.
